If the G.O.D. be in me, then the king I be! You know you wanna be down with the King.
We all want to be down. But do we know why we want to be down? Or, do we wanna be down with the king because it’s the “in thing” to do?
Many people want to be down with the king because everyone else is. Yes, they may see something good in the king. But, don’t really know what that goodness is…what that goodness means.
It’s like wearing shell-top Adidas with the fat shoelaces. Who knows why those became popular? I don’t know. We wanted to be down with the king. And Run DMC did a song about putting their Adidas in the air, and the rest was history. Few of us asked: why do I need shell-top Adidas? We just knew, Run DMC got Adidas, so I’ma get a pair of shell-top Adidas.
